A Christmas tree by Gavyn

Yesterday  with it being so cold here in NC  after lunch I decided to pull out some goodies for Gavyn and I to work on.  We did a festive Christmas tree  and he thought it was so much fun especially  the glitter.  We then put together a little wooden bird house that was in a kit, now it is still a work in progress and when it is finished I will post a picture.

Another cheese ball recipe: I have to make this one every year according to my neice and it gets crushed

1 small can of ham spread (not potted meat or deviled ham unless thats what you want)
1 package of cream cheese
1package of hidden valley ranch dressing in the packet not bottle
parsley

Let your cream cheese soften,  add the ham spread  and the dressing.  Mix well
form into a ball on a plate  and cover in parsley
let chill and serve  so simple and so good

I will not let Christmas beat me this year

I know  that in the past I have let Christmas beat me down.  Through stress  and exhaustion.  It was a non stop rush  that left me with migraines, lots of stress  and by the time Christmas came I was to tired to enjoy things.  Well I made the decission  that I wasn't going to let that happen  and so a new tradition is born.

My family loves to eat, so with that in mind  I am doing the gift of food.  I am baking everyone cakes this year  so when they get up Christmas they will have a cake made by me to enjoy for Christmas day. I have 7 to make and really looking forward to it.

Cheese Party !  this year I decided that since we are cheese nuts (don't think I have ever met a Cheddar I didn't like  even the sharpest)  and my hubby and kids agree  so we are going to have a cheese party, all different kinds, with a variety of crackers and bread.  Followed with hot chocolate or coffee  and of course cheese cake

When my boys were little  they loved  the cheese ball I always made  so here is how simple it is and yes it will be at the party
ingredients:

cheddar spread
cream cheese
blue cheese
1tsp garlic salt
1 T Worcester sauce
crushed pecans
parsley (optional)

Let you cheeses come to room temperature. In a mixing bowl mix  the cheeses  and the garlic salt and Worcesters sauce.  blend well.  Form into a ball on a plate and then cover with pecans and parsley.
put in the fridge  to firm back up  and then serve with crackers or bread

It is better to give than to recieve

The other day I was doing some cleaning  and discovered I had lot's of change in my pocketbooks I had not carried in a while.  About 6.00 worth.  Well I got to thinking that perhaps I should put all that change  in the Salvation Army kettle.  So I figure if  alot of people did that  thhink of the moeny that could be raised to help others.  So dig around  and see what you can find  and make that donation . No matter how small  it all adds up in the end  and relly it is the season for giving.

Craigs List-- Through the years I have found i have lots of Christmas decorations  as you know we usually make or buy some every year.  So if I am not using all of them I decided to share.  I put a free listing on craigs list  and gave them to someone who needed them so they could decorate for Christmas  I am sure if you dig around  you will find that you have some extra's too  so share the extra's

Try  and buy 1 toy and donate no matter how small you might think it is  come Christmas morning a child is going to smile

Now from me to you  Some Christmas gift tags.  Just save the picture and print and use on your gifts
remember to click on it first to make it larger

Cyber Monday oh I would love to get a sale

This is suppose  to be  the day  that cyber sales go up.  I would really love to be in the mix of that. So I am going to show off a couple of prettys  that would make great Christmas gifts.
First  is this beautiful hand crafted necklace  made in the mountains of NC.  This was a gift to me  from my mil. She told me  that if I wanted I could sell it considering  it really isn't my style but a new pocketbook always is.  This Necklace was purchased for $230.00  and is still in the box, never worn.  Today  I will sell it for 100.00  and free shipping.

Good things come to those who wait

About a month or so ago  after a long hot summer  I got up on a Saturday  morning, was having a me day  and had a few dollars  so  I hit  some yard sales.  I was having lot's of fun  and then  I hit  the mother of all yards sales if your a crafter  that is.  There was fabric, yarn  and you name it there  and the sweetest woman who was selling this. A life long crafter  that just  needed  to get rid  of  some of her stash.  We  talked  and laughed  and shared  story's  almost as if  we had always  new each other.  Then  she mentioned  she had  lot's of buttons  to go through.  So I gave her my number  for her to call me  when  she was ready with those buttons.  About  2 weeks  later she called  and back to her home I went, more fabric, buttons, batting  you name it.  Well  we got to talking  and I told her  that I had always  wanted a dress form.  But just couldn't pay  the high cost at the fabric shop's.  I have been searching thrift  shops  and such  and no luck.  So this past Saturday  she called  and told me she was getting  more  things together  and I could come by  about 1:00.  So I was there.  and let me tell you when I got  there  the first thing that caught my eye  was a vintage  dress form.  She gave it to me.  I could not have been more  excited.  We put it in the car  and I brought it home  so excited  I could have burst.
So  it is right  good  things happen  to those who wait,  may not happen today  or this year  but it will happen
