What a busy weekend

It was a birthday weekend. Hubby's was on Saturday and my son's was on Sunday. I have added another pif to my etsy shop but you can also snag it here as well. It is so pretty and sunny here today. I think our high will be close to 90. I have some running to do and then I hope to later on today get some flowers planted. I am also going to try my hand at pumpkins this year.

I will keep an update on that. I hope that by October to have some great jack-o lanterns from the pumpkins I have grown. Of course Gavyn wants to help. I am going to plant some mammoth sunflowers too and then we can feed the birds with the seeds not to mention some fun pictures.

my new knit cards

I am getting a little braver with my photography and editing skills. I am on this computer daily trying to figure things out. So I go to the local knit shop Knit Picky here in Winston Salem and showed her some of my pictures and we started talking about making some knit note cards so I started taking pictures and come home and played. Now it is a work in progress and still need to take plenty more pictures and work at it but I did come up with a couple that I like. And I wouldn't be me with out a big splash of color!

I love playing with my photos

I love coming up with something that may take a few min or a few hours and lot's of layers but the end result is pretty cool. I also have this cute little photo printer from Canon that will print out these perfect little 4*6 that I can frame or even use in a card or a post card.

I love finding pictures I forgot I had

I was going though all my pictures and getting rid of ones I no longer needed. I came across a couple I had really forgotten about but am glad that I found. The orange flower not really sure what it is was growing in the shaded part of my yard last summer so grabbed the camera and took pictures. It had recently rained and I was able to capture the water droplets on the unknown flower. If you know what it is please post a comment. I would like to know

More Gavyn Artwork

He can't be stopped. He comes in and the first thing he says is can I paint? I am totally amazed he actually runs me off the computer and he is only 3. He knows now how to open his own canvas and how to resize tubes, fonts and brushes. He changes colors and just does his own thing.

Gavyn's first digital art

Now keep in mind he is only 3. My son and I work in Paint Shop Pro and when we get on the computer Gavynhas to set on our laps watching and observing what we are doing. Well the other day I set down and here he come and I started up the program. He said "I want to paint"

so I opened up a new project. He chose all the colors is the picture and I introduced him to paint brushes and he would click on the one he liked, changed the colors and we had a ball. I was amazed watching his little hand move that mouse around and select colors like he did.

Well here is that cute piece of artwork and there should be more in the future.

I bought a knitting board and I love it.

This thing is awesome. What I really like is the fact that both sides of what you are making is the knit stitch, It makes a nice thich fabric that dosen't curl up like when you do the stockinette stitch. I found it at Hobby Lobby and bought the 10 in. I like it so well that I went back and bought the 28 in. You can also do variations in your stitches too

Fun New Hats

I had an idea to make a fun little hat like we use to wear when we were young or at least when I was young. Just goes across the head and ties and you can still wear your hair in a pony tail.

I also bought me a knitting board and I really like this thing. Lot's of fun, easy to use and the ccol part is causes a dbl knit effect so the item does curl up like in stockinette stitch. I had bought the 10" and like it so much I went back for the 28"in one. I will post pictures soon of the things I am making.

Time to get out and vote

It is here election day and I swear I am still so undecided. I am so tired of the commercials I could scream. So must get ready and go stand in line at the polls and do this.

As the days get shorter

I become less motivated. I love lot's of warm sunny days. And now that darkness comes to soon in the day I find myself setting more than doing. That on top of cold for me is not a good combination. This is how seasonal depression feels. I know I need to snap out of it but that is easy to say and not so easy to do. I have lot's of projects I really need to be doing and have even learned a for me new knitting technique for knitting in the round called the magic loop. Beats those dbl pointed needles.

I really can't wait till this election is over. and here it is October 30th and still have not fully decided who I will vote for. I was all set but as it gets closer I wonder if either is a good candidate. It's kinda like should I just go to the polls close my eyes and punch and hope for the best.

Thinking pink in October

For the whole month of October I will be giving these away with every purchase in my Etsy shop.
They are made from polymer clay, and the pin backs are baked on.
you can use these for years to come

Practice makes perfect

or at least that is what I hear. The more I play with my polymer clay the more ideas I come up with. I figured out how to make a bracelet and how to make my own bails for making necklaces. I have a few pics but will be showing more soon

The longest part of doing polymer clay is conditioning. Seems like it takes forever to get the clay conditioned and yes I do have a pasta machine. I would say I probally have most of the goodies required for doing a lot of polymer clay work.
